Direct Data Access custom properties

The DDA custom properties domain gives you direct access to raw custom property data in DDA. You define these properties at the device or organization level and use them to tag devices or customers with business-specific metadata, such as:

  • Service tier

  • Contract type

  • BitLocker status

  • Windows 11 compatibility

  • Last execution and result of a custom service

The domain exposes this data in a lightly modeled, row-based format, with one row per property and columns for device or customer identifiers and the corresponding property values, similar to how the N-central UI presents them. With this data you can:

  • Join custom property data with other warehouse tables using warehouse keys.

  • Filter or segment data in reporting tools connected to DDA.

Benefits of DDA custom properties

Flexible Reporting and Segmentation

  • Filter devices or customers by custom attributes (for example, service tier, patch compliance, or BitLocker status) to generate targeted reports.

  • Segment for billing, compliance, or SLA tracking without depending on static dashboards.

Advanced Analytics Beyond UI Boundaries

  • DDA provides raw access to custom property data, enabling you to run complex queries and analyze more columns than the N-central Analytics UI allows.

  • Join or pivot custom property data with other warehouse tables to uncover deeper insights.

Audit and Compliance

  • Access historical views to track changes over time for audits or troubleshooting.

  • Compare current values against defaults to support compliance reporting.

Operational Efficiency

  • Reduce reliance on workarounds, such as custom monitors in Report Manager.

  • Retrieve both device-level and organization-level properties with timestamps to improve data accuracy and operational decision-making.
